tbr challenge*

This new year I want to read more, not just magazines, but actual books. I received several books last year for Christmas but they have just been gathering dust.....so for 2007 at the suggesting of Laura I am putting forth the effort and will commit to the TBR challenge.

The following is my compilation of books for the TBR ~~~
**Enchantment of the Faerie Realm -- Ted Andrews
**Cesar's Way -- Cesar Millan
**Valiant-A Modern Tale of Faerie -- Holly Black
**Cottage Witchery -- Ellen Dugan
**Animal Speak -- Ted Andrews
**Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince -- JK Rowling
**The Chronicles of Narnia
1. The Magician's Nephew
2. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
3. The Horse and his Boy
4. Prince Caspien
5. The Voyage of the Dawn Trader
6. The Silver Chair
7. The Last Battle

Alternates include:
**Wicked
**Poem Crazy -- Susan Goldsmith Woolridge
**Eragon -- Christopher Paolini

Julie is also joining in on the fun, her selections include:
**The Chronicles of Narnia -- see above for the seven specific books
**Freakonomics - Steven Levitt
**The Iraq Report
**Uncle Tom's Cabin -- Harriet Beecher Stowe
**The Brothers Karamazov -- Fyodor Dostoevsky
**Oliver Twist -- Charles Dickens
**Starting your own Retail Business

PS -- Today is Julie's birthday --we celebrated at her favorite mexican restaurant.

Yipeeee! The list is up!!!! Very interesting, some I have never heard of and will have to look up on Amazon! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIE!!!! Your list looks very good too! Some classics! You are smart! I will want reports on Freakanomics and The Narnia books. Mike and I just got back from a day long toot. I have had sciatica pains all day and have been walking around like a 90 year old. Funny, but not! I am off to the land of the magical bed to look at my loot from the toot. More books!!! and the new Cloth,Paper, Scissors magazine. Oh, can you post a list of your books on the yahoo site so that you will be eligible for prizes?? Julie's too! How is that Poem book? I got a Sabrina Ward Harrison book from Beth for my birthday. This is the longest comment I ever wrote, how rude!!! Hopefully I will talk to you tomorrow. I am too tired to speak on the phone tonight. I blame sciatica!! Damn aging!!!

How exciting! A lot of bloggers are participating in this, and I totally would if I weren't already involved in a reading group (which is really just a reading duo, considering the only other participant if a friend of mine).

I'm interested in your opinions of Cottage Witchery and Animal Speak. Wicked is awesome, by the way. Narnia is on my list, too. ;)

Good luck and happy reading!

No Sandy it is not rude to write long comments, especially if you do it cause they are the best!!!!! I was just kidding!!!!!! Or being self-effacing or whatever.....thinking i was funny! I agree with you about the Dickens!! He was such a great writer! (like the world needs me to tell them that!) I loved Great Expectations. But you have to be in a certain mood to read a classic as it is slower going than just reading a current best seller. anywhooo.........i think you have had quite enough out of me right???

I LOVE the Harry Potter books!!! I also got Freakenomics for my husband a while ago cuz he likes finance stuff. Looks like you might have the Nick Bantock series books too!! What fun. I always want to read more, just need about 20 more hours in each day and a bit more caffiene. Good luck on your goals!!!
