out of the nest~

since my daughter has moved out, i have been wanting to make her

something symbolizing her leaving the nest and using the words "wings to fly"

i think that this artwork captures it.....

and for beth who asked how i do this, i take a piece of canvas prepared with gesso, paint with lumiere paint, let dry, paint a few times with beeswax, lay down the artwork, covered a few more times with beeswax, embellish , i will be adding a brass butterfly to her outstretched hand and cover with more beeswax..and voila'

you have a piece of art....

yesterday was my niece's 15th birthday, my how time flies...so i made this for her to send her way...

today i stayed home from work as i feel like total crap and it is a perfect day to stay in..it just started really snowing heavy.. i snapped a few photos for your enjoyment, meanwhile, i am curled up on the couch with my cuppa ginseng & lemon tea and the fireplace is going and the naps are napping...oooooo, yeah life is good....

i am a big handbag nut!! seriously! you cannot have enough handbags, just like shoes, i am the same way with shoes also..anyway, if i see a handbag that i want i will get it, no matter the price, yes i have laid out some serious cash on some handbags

...but anyway, i digress..when i travel i like to take a bag that i can put over my head and sideways across my body, so i found this gem at target, its a plain jane, but has nice room and i knew i could glam it up a bit, so anyway, i am beading this little phrase on it and then who knows what else, but it is my bag when i go to artfest2007....i think it is pretty perfect!

good antique find day~

here are my treasures from the don scott antique show, it rolls in to our fairgrounds 6times a year and you never know what you will find......letter "L" came off an old movie marque in detroit, michigan, it is for

..arent the latern salt & pepper shakers too cute?? $1.00 for the pair, i collect old glass salt/pepper shakers and fill them with buttons!!
Embroidery floss=50cents a piece and that saved me a trip to joanns, box of straight pins was $3.00 and i bought it for the little box and i needed a small box of pins to take to artfest..

in march, i again am meeting up with the faeries again for a beautiful soiree/ball-faerie style at

rosecliff mansion

in newport, ri ..one of the faeries in our group is fondly called "the timekeeper" as she makes it her job to make sure we all stay focused and on time!!! so, i thought i would make her a little something that would make her look a little more official.......

the big stink***

i had the worst day in a real long time, to the point i wanted to say *FU AND SHOVE IT!
and walk out on my job, but i regrouped had some lentil soup and a starbucks iced green tea
and i was fine UNTIL i opened the garage door into the house and there was this smell..you
know that familiar smell that happens when a dog or cat has the hersey squirts...well, kaj
hit 5spots in a circle on the carpet, it was tres gross! spot bot to the immediate rescue and a call to master clean to clean the carpets STAT! needless to say, there was no cooking or eating at home tonight...we went out.....so in honor of my day & evening, i thought the above was perfect!!
after all, kaj is a great dane and makes a great marie antoinette...

updated****left at midnight and we only had 2pups born..got a call this morning at 545am, #3HAD JUST BEEN BORN-little boy, mostly brown with white markings..will have pictures when i get over there today..the nursery has had many visitors in the last 24hrs....mom-NALA is doing fine, tired but she loves her balls and has 2by her side....******



well, got the call at 12:45 when we were at target!! 1st puppy is born, he is a boy named SIMBA.....it is now 2:41 pm and the second one was just delivered, she is a black and white female.....pictures will follow for each puppy born...heathers friend-kevin is delivering the
puppies..thank the lord he is here!!!.....xoxoxo

today i had a rather strange shaped package shoved under the garage door...
i thought it was from my faerie friend in the UK-GINA, but it wasnt once i opened
it, it was from my secret faerie...below are the goodies..
