clean sunday

today we are seriously cleaning as tomorrow we have a showing on our house...
so send up some prayers that these folks love good manor and put an offer on the table!!!
anyway, i had to do major weeding in my rose beds ..i did 3/4 of it a couple of weeks agao and
now need to finish it and in doing so i found some surprises ....these are my my rose beds and my stargazer lily beds
imagine those tall pricker weeds across the whole back side...
yep my hands hurt like hell 2weeks again and i was surprised that the majority of my roses had buds on them and little leaf damage, i guess those prickers keep any pests away...

biggie looking through out the window in the kitchen at me holding vera...

a speckled toad in our window well, i am sure he is enjoying the dryer vent right over top of him,
the lint makes a nice blanket for him....lol,lol..
so i go back inside to for a few minutes and i come back out to finish weeding and what do i find in that same window well that wasnt there before
a friggin' snake!!!

he was HUGE! so i am screaming for julies mom to come look what i found and she tells the snake is a garter snake!! well i still cannot believe that is what it was as i have never seen one that long before!!!!!
so i stood there for about 15minutes watching him hoping he wouldnt bother the toad and he didnt thank the lord!! he finally came out of the window well and i turned my head and when i turned back he had disappeared...pretty cool!! right? this is a great picture of the snake, i like to think he is a cobra ready to strike, i tried to get his red tongue in the picture but that was a no go....

julie on her dixie chopper-the faster lawnmower, i am super serious about that!!

and i will leave you with this, we stopped to get gas for the mowers and weed wacker this morning and i found this sweet nest that had fallen out of the tree, i love how some paper was woven into the nest..the peony in the nest is cut from a bush in the drive thru at WENDYs, how funy is that....

lol

what a great picture show! I love the comment about the lint blanket for Mr. Toad! Mr. Snake's photo was indeed Animal Planet worthy! Nice to see you back on your feet and with your "Wig" wonderfully primped!

okay, first of all, although i consider myself an animal lover, i cannot abide snakes! they really give me the heebie geebies! (childhood thing....) i thought for sure he was gonna eat that frog. would you have reached in to save the frog if necessary? (i would have even though i would have probably been screaming). love julie on that hotroad mower! and the sweet nest is darling. now get back to weeding!

Funny, I was talking just today about maybe I could actually get a bull snake to come live in my yard (I wonder how I could make him stay in the yard?) Why you ask? Those friggin (that was your word, right?) pack rats that look like big cute mice but seem to be a problem around here...it's a full blown war I tell ya and I could use a snake!!!!!

Good luck with the showing...how could they NOT love Good Manner?

How was the showing? Inquiring minds want to know!! Snakes are good luck, you know? You'll probably have a sale by the end of the week b/c of that slippery little sucker! You better bring him in the house right away!!
