remembrance...

i recently received some great vintage circus photos from
  • her father had a HUGE collection of circus memorabilia. he has since passed on to that big tent in the sky and she wanted to share his photos with some of us...when i looked through them, something just touched me deep, i couldnt stop looking through the stack, it was weird and it is hard to explain but i have been glued to these photos since..anyway, i knew i had to make something immediately, so this is my tribute to sammy and her wonderful father......

    Oh Kim, this is BEAUTIFUL!!

Am so glad you visited Sammy's blog and accepted her lovely offer of some of her dad's circus photo's. Isn't she a sweetheart???

I was so touched by her words about her relationship with her dad. And am touched here again reading about your connection to the photo's she sent to you.

    She will love this tribute.

Such a beautiful thing for you to do.

    Hugs

Have you read the book "Water for Elephants"? It's a recent novel with the circus as a setting. Good read.

Very nice work! A close friend of mine recently put together another form of tribute for his grandfather, E.J. Kelty, who was often referred to as "The Circus Photographer". His photos are quite amazing - you'd probably recognize some. They're from the 20's and 30's of the people, the acts, the animals, side shows and more. His site is at www.centuryflashlight.com.
