i thought i would take a walk and take some random pictures of things around the house and here is what i found......

shine on harvest moon~*~

i have always loved neil young's harvest moon..it just struck a chord with me, but then i like neil young anyway..when my sister lived in long beach, california years ago, her and her friend picked me up from the airport and we immediatley headed off shopping and ended up at some divey little bar called barneys beanery on santa monica blvd in hollywood, california..so we are sitting on a picnic table inside the bar by thefront window and this restored old sedan pulls up and the driver gets out and opens up the door for its occupants and out gets Mr. Neil Young and some model looking woman and they make their way into the bar and I am going OMG, do you know who that is and they did and that was my first brush with anyone famous, so of course he is in there giving a radio interview and no one is bothering him and i am just watching him, so so cool..so long story short, he signs a matchbook with the words..my my hey hey...another cool song...so tonight when you are looking up at mr harvest moon, think of me and neil young humming the words to harvest moon!~*~*~*~*~

mailart

yesterday, i opened my mailbox and besides the wolf spider that was sitting there to greet me was this beautiful handmade halloween doll, yes the doll, not in a box , just the dolly. i screamed with joy as this was my mailart...mailart, you asked? well, i am in this every 3rd tuesday of the month art get together and every month we do a different topic with projects. last month, it was mailart and we learned that you can pratically send anything through the mail as long as it is hand stamped. so before class ended we each wrote down our names on a little piece of paper and drew one a name to send a secret mailart to..when i saw the doll i knew exactly that i had lucked out that sharon andrews-artist extradronaire!!( http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=90914) had drawn my name.. she is a beautiful artist that besides doing mixed media, she creates stunning dolls..and the funny thing is i just bought one of her dolls from bayberry cove and lo and behold her sister ends up in my mailbox..what a thrill.. sharon's address is on the back of the doll's head and my address is on her back and the stamps are on a piece of packing tape around her waist..sharon is just amazing!! i still havent sent mine, but i am going for sending a soft pumpkin in the mail to my secret mailart partner.....what a great mail day yesterday was!~^*^~
